　　首次遇到這個短語，你肯定會想到上下學路上的紅綠燈?？墒牵闳绻麅H僅把這個短語理解為綠燈，那就太孤陋寡聞啦!

　　Green light also means to give permission for something to happen. “green light ”還可以翻譯為“準許，批準”的意思，它在口語中也是相當實用的。

　　短語give the green light 千萬不能意為給一個綠燈，它的意思是“給予批準”。而get the green light ,意為“得到許可”。

　　例句：

　　I finally got the green light to take 5 days' off and I would have a holiday in Hong Kong.
