國考報名結(jié)束超120萬人已過審

China’s civil servant exam is seeing fiercer competition, as job openings have been slashed.

中國的公務(wù)員考試職缺變少，競爭愈加激烈。

The registration for the guokao, or China’s national civil service exam, ended on Wednesday. As of the deadline date, more than 1.2 million people have qualified to take the exam for 14,500 vacancies, China News reported.

中國國家公務(wù)員考試(即國考)報名已于本周三結(jié)束。據(jù)《中國新聞報》報道，截止報名結(jié)束，已有120多萬人申請了14500個職位。

The number of job vacancies this year saw a sharp decline, nearly half that of 2017, when 1.1 million applicants vied for 28,500 vacancies.

今年的職位空缺有明顯減少，較上年度下降近一半，當(dāng)時約有110人競爭28500個職位。

Competition is fierce: the average ratio of applicants to openings is about 85:1 this year, much higher than last year’s 58:1.

競爭非常激烈：今年的平均職位競爭比例是85比1，比去年的58比1高很多。

The most sought-after vacancy, a post in the meteorological bureau of Longmen county in Guangdong province, drew 4,040 applicants.

最熱職位——廣東省惠州市龍門縣氣象局的一職競爭比已經(jīng)達(dá)到4040:1。

The decrease in vacancies for this year’s guokao is attributed to the reorganization of the Communist Party of China and government institutions carried out earlier this year, according to an expert from Offcn, a "cram school" for the civil servant exam.

今年國考職位空缺減少是因為今年初中國共產(chǎn)黨和政府部門的重組，據(jù)中公網(wǎng)校的一名專家稱。中公網(wǎng)校是一家為國考提供輔導(dǎo)的培訓(xùn)機(jī)構(gòu)。

The unidentified expert said the merger of national tax and local tax authorities led to a nearly 70 percent reduction in related posts, which account for nearly half of all vacancies.

這位未透露姓名的專家表示，國稅和地稅機(jī)構(gòu)的整合使得相關(guān)部門人員精簡了70%，而這些幾乎占所有職缺的一半。

The guokao is an annual examination to recruit civil servants for national-level government departments, affiliated public institutions and local branches.

國考是一年一度的考試，為政府部門、事業(yè)單位和當(dāng)?shù)貦C(jī)構(gòu)招聘公務(wù)員。

Despite the relatively low salaries of civil servants, job security and perks such as a better pension plan, health and welfare benefits attract many young candidates.

While the number of government positions has dropped, China has seen a record number of 8.2 million college graduates this year, fueling an ever more competitive job market.

The written exam of guokao will be held on Dec 2, and those who pass will take interviews to be held next year.

高考筆試將在12月2日舉行，通過筆試者才能在來年參加面試。
