青海省試種花生首次獲得成功

Chinese scientists have successfully grown peanutsin Northwest China's high-altitude Qinghai provincefor the first time, local authorities said.

據(jù)地方當(dāng)局透露，中國科學(xué)家首次在中國西北部高海拔的青海省成功種植了花生。

In a demonstrative project hosted by the QinghaiAcademy of Agriculture and Foresty Sciences, researchers have been conducting trial planting ofseveral crops including ginger and peanuts sinceMarch. Five peanut varieties were tested to pick outthe best.

在青海省農(nóng)林科學(xué)院主辦的一項(xiàng)示范項(xiàng)目中，研究人員從今年3月以來一直在試驗(yàn)種植姜和花生等幾種作物，對(duì)5個(gè)花生品種進(jìn)行試驗(yàn)以選出其中最好的。

"The peanuts are growing well with few diseases and pests, which proves that peanut plantingis possible in greenhouses on the Qinghai plateau," said Huang Pingui, deputy-director withhusbandry and poverty relief and development bureau of Huangzhong County.

湟中縣農(nóng)牧和扶貧開發(fā)科技局副局長黃品貴表示：“花生長得很好，病蟲害少，這證明了在青海高原的溫室里種植花生是可行的。”

 

"The yield per plant is expected to be between 220 and 350 grams, making the peanut yieldper mu (about 0.07 hectares) reach at least 500 kilograms," Huang added.

黃品貴補(bǔ)充稱：“每株花生的產(chǎn)量預(yù)計(jì)在220克到350克之間，使每畝(約0.07公頃)花生的產(chǎn)量至少達(dá)到500公斤。”

As a warm-weather plant, peanuts usually require a long, hot growing season and loose sandysoil to develop in.

作為一種適合在溫暖的氣候下生長的植物，花生通常需要一個(gè)漫長、炎熱的生長季節(jié)，以及疏松的沙土環(huán)境。

The trial success of peanut planting marks a breakthrough in agriculture in the barren landof Qinghai province.

花生種植試驗(yàn)的成功標(biāo)志著青海省貧瘠土地農(nóng)業(yè)的突破。

It offers the farmers another option in greenhouse vegetable planting, and optimizes thestructure of the vegetable industry in the region, the local official said.
