意大利一夫婦被責(zé)令為女兒改名

A couple in Milan, Italy, who had chosen to name their baby daughter "Blu", was recently ordered by a court to change the name to something more suitable for a girl.

意大利米蘭一對(duì)夫婦給女兒起名為“布盧”，近日法院責(zé)令這對(duì)夫婦給孩子換一個(gè)更適合女孩的名字。

According to a presidential decree issued in the year 2000, "the name given to a child must correspond to their sex" and Italian authorities apparently don't consider "Blu" to be a suitable name for a girl.

按照意大利2000年頒布的一項(xiàng)總統(tǒng)令，父母給孩子取名“必須符合其性別”。相關(guān)部門(mén)顯然認(rèn)為“布盧”這個(gè)名字不適合女孩。

Despite having already registered the 18-month-old child's name on her birth certificate and passport, the parents were summoned to appear in court to choose a more feminine name or the court will decide it for them.

孩子現(xiàn)在18個(gè)月大，父母已用“布盧”為她辦理了出生證和護(hù)照，盡管如此，法院還是傳喚這對(duì)父母到庭，要求他們給孩子另取一個(gè)更為女性化的名字，否則法院會(huì)給孩子指定一個(gè)名字。

 

"Given that this is a modern name based on the English word 'blue', and that it cannot be considered unequivocally attributable to a person of the female sex, the birth certificate must be rectified by inserting another female name that the parents may propose during the course of the hearing," the court summons read.

法院傳票上寫(xiě)道：“這是一個(gè)源于英文單詞‘藍(lán)色'的現(xiàn)代名，并不能明確地顯示出女性的特征，(因而)必須變更出生證，加入一個(gè)女性名字，家長(zhǎng)可在法庭聽(tīng)證時(shí)得到關(guān)于名字的建議。”

"If we don't show up with an alternative, a judge will decide our daughter's name for us," father Luca told Italian newspaper Il Giorno, last week.

上周，孩子的父親盧卡向意大利報(bào)紙《Il Giorno》透露：“如果我們不能提供一個(gè)可替代的名字，法官將為我們的女兒指定一個(gè)名字。”

If it's any consolation to the parents, they weren't the only ones summoned by the court last week. Another couple who had named their daughter Blu was also due to appear in front of a judge and offer an acceptable name.

如果有什么可以安慰這對(duì)父母的，那就是在上周他們不是唯一因此被法院傳喚的。另一對(duì)已經(jīng)給自己女兒起名為“布盧”的夫婦，也來(lái)到了法庭，并提供一個(gè)可接受的名字。
