夏洛特小公主將保留皇位繼承權(quán)順位

For most older siblings, the arrival of a new little boyor girl in the family is a moment of sadness as itmeans they'll no longer be the centre of attention.

對很多長子來說，新生兒的到來總不那么愉快，因為家庭中心要轉(zhuǎn)移了。

But Princess Charlotte certainly won't mind when thenext Royal sibling comes along later this month as itmeans she'll be making history.

但是月底王室新成員的誕生卻不會妨礙夏洛特小公主，因為我們的小公主就要創(chuàng)作歷史。

Thanks to the Succession to the Crown Act of 2013, the two-year-old will be the first female royal to retain her position in the succession of thethrone, regardless of her new sibling's gender.

幸好有《皇位繼承法案2013》，不管新生兒是男是女，兩歲的夏洛特將成為第一個能保留皇位繼承順序的女孩。

Prior to the act a younger brother would overtake a female sibling in the line of succession.

此前，如果新生兒是男孩，他就有權(quán)僭越姐姐繼承皇位。

The act says: 'Succession to the Crown not to depend on gender: In determining the successionto the Crown, the gender of a person born after 28 October 2011 does not give that person, orthat person’s descendants, precedence over any other person (whenever born).'

法案中說：“皇位繼承不再取決于性別，2011年10月28日之后的新生王室成員，無論男女，無權(quán)優(yōu)先于任何王室成員繼承皇位。”

The same act also meant that members of the Royal family who marry a Catholic will no longerbe disqualified.

法案還規(guī)定嫁給天主教徒的王室成員也享有繼承皇位的資格。
