中本聰收回驗明正身的承諾

The Australian computer scientist claiming to be theenigmatic founder of bitcoin has backtracked onpromises to prove his identity, claiming he did nothave the “courage” to do so in the face of intensescrutiny.

自稱是比特幣神秘創(chuàng)始人的澳大利亞計算機(jī)科學(xué)家已收回證明自己身份的承諾，稱在嚴(yán)密關(guān)注之下他沒有“勇氣”這樣做。

Craig Wrighthad promised to provide evidence tosupport his claim earlier this week to have createdbitcoin in 2008 using the pseudonym SatoshiNakamoto. The announcement by the self-styled security expert sparked scepticism amongtech experts globally, given the enduring mystery surrounding the creation of the cryptocurrency.

In a blog post on his website entitled “I’m sorry”, Mr Wright said he was “not strong enough”to face allegations about his qualifications and character that were emerging. He said he wouldnot now publish the proof that he has access to the keys to the digital currency.

He acknowledged this would damage his supporters, including Gavin Andresen, the former chiefscientist at the Bitcoin Foundation who has more recently begun to question his initial backingof Mr Wright’s claim.

他承認(rèn)這會傷害到他的支持者，其中包括比特幣基金會(Bitcoin Foundation)前首席科學(xué)家加文•安德烈森(Gavin Andresen)，安德烈森近日開始質(zhì)疑自己最初對賴特聲明的支持。

Jon Matonis, a founder of the Bitcoin Foundation, also supported Mr Wright. Yesterday, heappeared to stand by the Australian entrepreneur with a tweet that said: “There won’t be anon-chain signing from early bitcoin blocks, but there also won’t be another Satoshi.”

比特幣基金會創(chuàng)始人喬恩•馬托尼斯(Jon Matonis)依然支持賴特。昨天他在Twitter上發(fā)消息稱，繼續(xù)信任這位澳大利亞企業(yè)家：“不會出現(xiàn)早期比特幣區(qū)塊鏈的簽名，但也不會出現(xiàn)另一個中本聰。”

Mr Wright said in his post: “They were not deceived but I know that the world will never believeme now.”

Mr Wright seems to suggest in the blog that he is sill standing by the claim, which is likely tofan speculation on the identity of the anonymous founder.

“I believed that I could put the years of anonymity and hiding behind me. But as the events ofthis week unfolded and I prepared to publish the proof of access to the earliest keys, I broke. Ido not have the courage. I cannot.”

Mr Wright had said he could show a transfer of bitcoin from “an early block” and“independently verifiable documents” after earlier evidence he provided was questioned as itbore similarity to a 2009 bitcoin transaction.
