The general characteristics of the early QiPao werea single piece of cloth that would cover the wholebody,down to the feet. Around the neck, the collarwould be high to help secure outfit. The materialswas loose,with slits on the side only allow for easiermovement.

早期旗袍的一般特點(diǎn)是單件覆蓋全身，長(zhǎng)度直到腳。在脖子上，高衣領(lǐng)使服裝穩(wěn)當(dāng)。該材料是寬松的，上側(cè)開衩使更容易走動(dòng)。

While the Qing Dynasty fell，the center of Chinese fashion became Shanghai,where theWestern influence was the highest. It was there that the form of QiPao we see most commonlytoday：slender fit and shorter sleeves,with two big slits at each side of the hem,forconvenient movement, but now wonderfully display the slender legs of women. Simplicity isone of its features from the collar, loop, chest, waist and hips to the lower hem. QiPao almostvaries with a woman's figure. Practicality always goes with beauty. Like a Chinese woman'stemperament, QiPao is elegant and gentle.
