世界環(huán)境日

World Environment Day

World Environment Day (WED) is a day that stimulates awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and public action. It is on 5 June. It was the day that United Nations Conference on the Human Environment began.

The United Nations Conference on the Human Environment was from 5-16 June 1972. It was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972.

The first World Environment Day was on 1973. World Environment Day is hosted every year by a different city with a different theme and is commemorated with an international exposition on the week that 5 June is on. World Environment Day is in summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere.

1972年6月5日在瑞典首都斯德哥爾摩召開了《聯(lián)合國人類環(huán)境會議》，會議通過了《人類環(huán)境宣言》，并提出將每年的6月5日定為“世界環(huán)境日”。同年10月，第27屆聯(lián)合國大會通過決議接受了該建議。世界環(huán)境日的確立，反映了世界各國人民對環(huán)境問題的認識和態(tài)度，表達了我們人類對美好環(huán)境的向往和追求。 　　

世界環(huán)境日，是聯(lián)合國促進全球環(huán)境意識、提高政府對環(huán)境問題的注意并采取行動的主要媒介之一。 　　

聯(lián)合國系統(tǒng)和各國政府每年都在6月5日的這一天開展各項活動來宣傳與強調保護和改善人類環(huán)境的重要性。 　　

聯(lián)合國環(huán)境規(guī)劃署每年6月5日選擇一個成員國舉行“世界環(huán)境日”紀念活動，發(fā)表《環(huán)境現(xiàn)狀的年度報告書》及表彰“全球500佳”，并根據(jù)當年的世界主要環(huán)境問題及環(huán)境熱點，有針對性地制定每年的“世界環(huán)境日”主題。 　　

世界環(huán)境日的意義在于提醒全世界注意地球狀況和人類活動對環(huán)境的危害。要求聯(lián)合國系統(tǒng)和各國政府在這一天開展各種活動來強調保護和改善人類環(huán)境的重要性。
