　　睡懶覺

　　When you sleep in, you remain in bed until later than usual. This is what we usually do on Saturdays and Sundays, provided we get the chance.

　　當(dāng)你sleep in時(shí)，你在床上呆到比平時(shí)晚的時(shí)間。如果有機(jī)會(huì)，我們通常在周六和周日時(shí)這么做。

　　例句：

　　I was too tired to get up and go to school, so I just slept in.

　　我太累了起不來去上學(xué)，所以就直接賴床了。

　　Sunday mornings are for sleeping in.

　　星期天的早晨是用來睡懶覺的。

　　I could just as well sleep in and nobody would notice my absence.

　　我可以睡個(gè)懶覺，沒人會(huì)注意到我不在。

　　“回籠覺”

　　什么叫unprotected sleep?

　　字面上理解是無保護(hù)的睡眠或風(fēng)險(xiǎn)睡眠，指的是turning off your alarm clock and immediately going back to sleep; risking not waking up for a job, class, or other daily task。冒著工作、上班等遲到的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)關(guān)掉鬧鐘睡回籠覺，這是不是很多人每天生活的真實(shí)寫照?

　　例句：

　　Don't risk being late for work due to unprotected sleep.

　　別為了睡回籠覺上班遲到。

　　“睡過頭”

　　“睡過頭”是sleep over還是oversleep?

　　sleep over

　　to sleep in someone else's home for a night

　　在別人家過夜，留宿

　　例句：

　　My niece is sleeping over on Friday night.

　　我侄女禮拜五晚上要來過夜。

　　真正“睡過頭”的英文是oversleep，保持睡覺這個(gè)動(dòng)作過長(zhǎng)時(shí)間：

　　to sleep for longer than you intended to and so wake up late

　　睡過頭，睡得過久

　　例句：

　　I missed the bus this morning because I overslept again.

　　今天早上我誤了公共汽車，因?yàn)槲矣炙^頭了。

　　sleep late是什么意思?

　　sleep late不是“睡得晚”，而是“睡到很晚才起床”，和get up late, sleep in意思一樣。

　　sleep并不是“去睡覺”的意思，它表示睡覺的狀態(tài)。例如“睡得好”就是sleep well,“睡得少”就是sleep little。

　　“我今天晚上會(huì)早點(diǎn)睡”不是I'll sleep early tonight，而是I'll go to bed early tonight。

　　“昨天我很晚才睡”不是I slept late last night，而是I went to bed late last night。

　　所以今天的你賴床了嗎?
