口譯又稱為“通譯”,為互譯兩方語(yǔ)言,在增進(jìn)我國(guó)與世界各國(guó)人民的交往起到了重要的作用。隨著我國(guó)與外界的交往越來(lái)越多,在政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、科學(xué)、文化等各個(gè)領(lǐng)域與世界組織的關(guān)系愈益密切,各地對(duì)口譯工作者的需求日益迫切,而我國(guó)懂外語(yǔ)的人為數(shù)不少,杰出的口譯工作者也在隨之增多。但是口譯人員卻不可由筆譯人員簡(jiǎn)單代替,口譯和筆譯之間有一定的區(qū)別。
“Like any other language, the material elements spoken English are sounds, which speak to the ears, while those of written English are written types or figures, which speak to the eyes. According to B.I.Evans, so far apart that they almost constitute two different language.”
根據(jù)伊萬(wàn)斯所言,筆譯和口譯幾乎是像二種不同的語(yǔ)言。伊萬(wàn)斯的話或許夸張了點(diǎn),但畢竟說(shuō)出了要點(diǎn),筆譯和口譯是有很大的區(qū)別。本文從兩個(gè)方面略議下兩者之區(qū)別。
