Aconcagua is 6,000 feet (1,600m) lower than Mount Everest, but it is the highest peak in the world outside of Asia. Mount Aconcagua belongs to the Andes Mountains, about 112km northwest of the city center of Mendoza and about 15km from the Chilean border. The peak of the famous mountain is 6,962m above sea level. It is also the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.

To conquer this mountain, you can choose some main routes which are very easy to access. For routes that are less popular, you should be prepared with good skills to handle bad situations.

The main route takes about 15 - 18 days. Starting from the Lower Hormones Valley, you reach Plaza de Mulas at an altitude of 4,260m. On the way, there are three camps located along the route.
