I was on a train in Switzerland. The train came to a stop, and the conductor's voice came over the loudspeaker and delivered a message in German, then Italian, then French. I had made the mistake of not learning any of those languages before my vacation. Everyone started getting off the train, and an old woman saw I was confused and stressed (I had to catch an overnight train to Rome, and I was flying home from there).
那次我在瑞士乘火車。火車停在一個(gè)站上，此時(shí)車廂廣播里傳來列車員的聲音，先后用德語、意大利語和法語播報(bào)了一段通知。我沒在來度假前學(xué)習(xí)這幾門語言，實(shí)在是個(gè)錯(cuò)誤。大家開始紛紛走下火車，這時(shí)，一位老太太看到了既困惑又焦慮的我(我必須趕一列開往羅馬的夜車，再從那兒飛回家)。
She spoke some English, and she told me that an accident had happened on the tracks. She asked me where I was trying to get to, then went and talked to some workers, and came back to tell me that we'd have to hop trains 3 or 4 times to get there.
她能講些英語，告訴我鐵軌出了故障。她還問我是要去哪兒，然后過去跟幾位工作人員談了一會(huì)兒，再回來對(duì)我說，我們得換乘三、四趟車才能趕到目的地。
I was really glad she was headed the same way, because it would have been hopeless for me to figure it out on my own. So we went from one train station to the next, getting to know each other along the way. She was really the sweetest woman.

It was a 2.5 hour journey in total, and when we finally made it to the destination, we got off and said our goodbyes. I had made it just in time to catch my train to Rome, and she told me she had a train to catch, too. I asked her how much farther she had to go, and it turns out her home was 2 hours back the other way. She had jumped from train to train and traveled the whole way just to make sure I made it. I was in shock but I managed to blurt out, pathetically, "you are the nicest person I've ever met". She smiled gently and hugged me and told me I'd better hurry off so I make it home. She seemed unreal. I was really convinced I was saying goodbye to an angel.
全程花了我們兩個(gè)半小時(shí)，終于乘到目的地后，我們下車互相道別。我成功地趕上了那趟開往羅馬的火車，她則告訴我她也有車要趕。我問她還得再乘多遠(yuǎn)，結(jié)果竟然是，回她家還要往回坐兩個(gè)小時(shí)。她一次次換乘，陪我坐了這一路，只是為了保證我能順利到達(dá)。我都驚呆了，但還是無限感動(dòng)地脫口說出：“你是我遇到過的最好的人。”她溫柔地微笑著，擁抱了我，還叫我趕快動(dòng)身，好順利回到家。她看起來如此不真實(shí)，我真的相信，自己在和一位天使說再見。
I'm not a very emotional dude, but I cried my face off that night (dammit, I'm doing it now, too). A woman spent her entire day sitting on trains taking her hours away from her home just to help out a confused tourist visiting her country. No matter how many countries I visit or sites I see, I'll always say the most beautiful country in the world is Switzerland.
我不是一個(gè)很容易感動(dòng)的人，可那一晚我真的哭慘了(該死，我現(xiàn)在又掉眼淚了)。一個(gè)女人坐了一整天的火車，過站數(shù)小時(shí)，只是為了幫助一個(gè)在她祖國旅游的慌亂的游客。無論我去過多少國家、看到過多少地方，我總是說，世界上最美國的國家，是瑞士。
