可用作名詞或動(dòng)詞，指某人在網(wǎng)上用了假資料，且/或該資料具有誤導(dǎo)性。該人在現(xiàn)實(shí)生活中，也許并不像網(wǎng)上展示的那么美好，還可能跟他在網(wǎng)上呈現(xiàn)的樣子大相徑庭。

例：

I went on a Tinder date last night and the guy totally catfished me. His profile pic was from 15 years ago.

昨晚我跟Tinder（國外交友軟件）上的人約會(huì)了，他網(wǎng)上的資料完全是用來“釣”人的，頭像竟然是他15年前的樣子。
