73. When I Have Fears

When I have fears that I may cease to be
Before my pen has glean'd my teeming brain,
Before high-piled books, in charactery,
Hold like rich garners the full-ripen'd grain;
When I behold, upon the night's starr'd face,
Huge cloudy symbols of a high romance,
And think that I may never live to trace
Their shadows, with the magic hand of chance;
And when I feel, fair creature of an hour,
That I shall never look upon thee more,
Never have relish in the faery power
Of unreflecting love——then on the shore
Of the wide world I stand alone, and think
Till love and fame to nothingness do sink.

我擔(dān)心，在我停止呼吸以前，
我的筆未及厘清勃發(fā)的思想，
厚厚的一疊書(shū)，墨寫(xiě)的青簡(jiǎn)，
未及將成熟的谷物收獲歸倉(cāng)；
在滿布星斗的夜空，我看見(jiàn)
美妙的傳奇化作巨大的云團(tuán)，
我思量，我會(huì)活不到那一天，
用神來(lái)之筆描繪這奇妙天象。
與我薄緣的美人啊，我感覺(jué)，
我也許永遠(yuǎn)見(jiàn)不到你，永遠(yuǎn)
無(wú)緣陶醉于愛(ài)情的堅(jiān)貞不移，
感受它的魅力！世界蒼蒼茫茫，
此刻，我獨(dú)自站在海岸邊思索，
直到愛(ài)情和名譽(yù)都沉入虛無(wú)。

[1]約翰·濟(jì)慈（John Keats，1795—1821），浪漫主義詩(shī)人，生于倫敦的一個(gè)馬夫家庭。15歲時(shí)父母雙亡，只得輟學(xué)，做了外科醫(yī)生的學(xué)徒。1817年出版了第一部詩(shī)集，并棄醫(yī)從文。1821年患肺結(jié)核去世，終年26歲。由于他特別講究詩(shī)歌的韻律，追求詩(shī)歌藝術(shù)本身的完美，死后被稱為“詩(shī)人的詩(shī)人”（a poets' poet）。代表作有《希臘古甕頌》《燦爛的星》等。
