　英語中的不可數(shù)名詞包括抽象名詞和物質(zhì)名詞，沒有復(fù)數(shù)形式，如water, tea, milk, meat, bread, rice, oil（油）, steel （鋼）, iron（鐵）等。這類名詞不能直接用數(shù)詞修飾，如不能說one water, three rice, five oil。表示數(shù)量時(shí)，這些不可數(shù)名詞要同a cup of... （一杯……），a piece of... （一塊……），one ton of...（一噸……）等表示量的結(jié)構(gòu)連用，這類結(jié)構(gòu)中表示量的名詞（cup, piece, ton等）有單復(fù)數(shù)變化，但后面的抽象名詞永遠(yuǎn)不變化。
