189　no longer, not...any longer, not...any more和no more

1　no longer 意為“不再”，為副詞短語(yǔ)，放在be動(dòng)詞、情態(tài)動(dòng)詞和助動(dòng)詞后，但放在行為動(dòng)詞前。no=not any，所以no longer 可以轉(zhuǎn)換為not...any longer。注意： no longer 用于肯定句，not...any longer 用于否定句，any longer 要放在句尾。

I can no longer wait. 我不能再等了。

I can not wait any longer .

He is no longer a child. 他已不再是一個(gè)孩子了。

He is not a child any longer .

She no longer lived in the room. 她不再住在那個(gè)房間里了。

She did not live in the room any longer .

He could no longer see her. （正）他再也不能見到她了。

He could not see her any longer . （正）

He could not any longer see her. （誤）

2　not...any more 在很多情況下可同not...any longer 換用。

He does not go there any longer . 他不再去那里了 。

He does not go there any more .

3　no more 意同not...any more ，表示次數(shù)、程度上“不再”。

I am afraid I shall see her no more . 恐怕我再也見不到她了。

He cried no more . 他不再哭了。
