1　a little 和a bit of 可以修飾不可數(shù)名詞，?？蓳Q用，意為“一點(diǎn)兒，少量的”，但a bit 不可修飾名詞。

He wants to borrow a little money. 他想借一點(diǎn)錢 。

There is only a little (of) water in the bottle.（正） 瓶子里只有一點(diǎn)水了 。

There is only a bit of water in the bottle.（正）

There is only a bit water in the bottle. （誤）

2　a little 和a bit 都可以修飾形容詞或副詞原級，表示“有些，有點(diǎn)兒”，這時?？蓳Q用。a bit of 不可修飾形容詞或副詞。

他有點(diǎn)吃驚。

He is a little surprised.

He is a bit surprised.

她有點(diǎn)累了 。

She is a little tired.

She is a bit tired.

These shoes are a little too big for him. 這些鞋對他有點(diǎn)太大了 。

These shoes are a bit too big for him.

3　a little 和a bit 都可以修飾形容詞或副詞比較級。

He felt a little better today. 他今天感到好一點(diǎn)了 。

he felt a bit better today.

He runs a little faster than you. 他跑得比你快一點(diǎn) 。

4　a little 和a bit 都可作主語或賓語。

A bit is enough. 一點(diǎn)就夠了。

I have only a little . 我只有一點(diǎn)。

5　強(qiáng)調(diào)“……中有一點(diǎn)兒……”，可用a little of+ 名詞。

She knows a little of everything. 她什么都懂一點(diǎn)。

6　not a little 和not a bit 的意思正好相反。

（1）not a little表示“很，十分，很多的”，相當(dāng)于very much。

The little girl is not a little clever. 這小女孩相當(dāng)聰明。

She spent not a little on clothes. 她買衣服花了很多錢。

（2）not a bit表示“毫不，一點(diǎn)也不”，相當(dāng)于not at all, not in the least。

He is not a bit tired. 他一點(diǎn)也不累。

She is not a bit like her mother. 她一點(diǎn)也不像她母親。

7　little 和bit 也都可以作名詞。little沒有復(fù)數(shù)，bit 的復(fù)數(shù)是bits 。

He has done little today. 他今天沒做多少事。

She made a supper from the bits . 她用吃剩的食物做了一頓晚飯。
