65　the other和another

　the other 和another 都可以用作代詞，表示“另一個(gè)”，但the other 表示已知的兩個(gè)人或物中的另一個(gè)，another 則指不定數(shù)目（3個(gè)或3個(gè)以上）中的任何一個(gè)，或同類中的另一個(gè)。

This shirt is a little small. Please give me another . 這件襯衫有點(diǎn)小，請(qǐng)給我拿另一件。

That's quite another matter. 那是另一個(gè)問題。

She held a pen in one hand and a book in the other (hand). 她一只手拿著一支鋼筆，另一只手拿著一本書。

他把一只腳放在水中，另一只腳放在凳子上 。

He put one foot in water and the other foot on a stool. （正）

He put one foot in water and another foot on a stool. （誤）
