44　round和around

1　這兩個詞均可用作介詞，都可以表示“圍著，環(huán)繞”。round 常同動態(tài)動詞連用，如fly, walk, go, travel等； around 常同靜態(tài)動詞連用，如sit, lie, stand等。

The birds are flying round the building. 鳥正圍著那幢大樓飛。

The students are standing around the desk. 學生們站在桌子周圍。

2　round 和around 均可用來表示環(huán)形和曲線的動作。

He turned round/around and waved goodbye to her. 他轉過身來向她揮手道別。

She saw them sitting round/around a huge table. 她看見他們圍著一張大桌子坐著。

3　round 和around 均可表示“到處，在各處，在附近”等無一定方向的運動或無一定地點的位置，或在某地各處觀光、游覽。

Is there a bank round/around the place? 附近有銀行嗎？

I'd like to walk round/around the university. 我想到大學各處走走。
