1　at the end of +時(shí)間名詞或地點(diǎn)名詞 表示“在……末，在……的盡頭”。

He left for London at the end of last week. 他上周末動(dòng)身去倫敦了。

At the end of the street you can see a bookstore. 在大街的盡頭你會(huì)看見(jiàn)一家書(shū)店。

2　by the end of +時(shí)間名詞 表示“到……末為止，在……以前”，指的是到某一時(shí)間為止怎樣，或在某一時(shí)間之前怎樣，是過(guò)去完成時(shí)或?qū)?lái)完成時(shí)的時(shí)間標(biāo)志。

They had learnt 10 lessons by the end of last month. 到上月底為止，他們已經(jīng)學(xué)了10課。

They will have built the bridge by the end of the year. 到今年年底，他們就將把這座橋建好了。

3　in the end 是副詞短語(yǔ)，意為“最后，終于”，相當(dāng)于at last，它單獨(dú)使用，后面不能跟of。

4　to the end 表示“到……底”，用作狀語(yǔ)，指的是把某種行為持續(xù)到底。
