故事原文

A visitor who sold umbrellas spent his holiday in a famous town. He brought a camera with him. He took some pictures. The weather was hot. So he wanted to cut his hair. When he arrived at a barber's shop, the barber took one of his umbrellas. After the barber cut the visitor's hair, he asked for the price of the umbrella.

“Two pence,” answered the man.

“No, no,” said the barber. “I will give you a penny, and if you don't think that's enough, you may take your umbrella back!”

The man was surprised but he understood, so he took it back and asked how much he had to pay. “A penny,” answered the barber.

“I will give you half a penny, and if that's not enough, I'm afraid you may put my hair on again.”

一個(gè)游客是賣傘的，他在一個(gè)著名的鎮(zhèn)上度假。他隨身帶著照相機(jī)，拍了些照片。天氣很熱，所以他想理發(fā)。當(dāng)他到一個(gè)理發(fā)店的時(shí)候，理發(fā)師從他那里拿了一把傘。當(dāng)理發(fā)師給他理完發(fā)后，他詢問(wèn)傘的價(jià)格。

賣傘的人回答說(shuō)：“兩個(gè)便士?！?/p>

“不，不。”理發(fā)師說(shuō)，“ 我只出一個(gè)便士，如果你認(rèn)為不夠的話，可以把傘拿回去?！?/p>

賣傘的人很驚訝，但他（很快就）明白了是怎么回事，所以他拿回了雨傘，隨后問(wèn)理發(fā)要付多少錢。 “一便士?！崩戆l(fā)師說(shuō)。

賣雨傘的人說(shuō)：“我給你半個(gè)便士，如果你覺(jué)得不夠的話，你可以把頭發(fā)安回去?！?/p>
