1. 文中語(yǔ)法解析

（1）there is a good chance 很可能

由there be構(gòu)成的一些固定句型在英語(yǔ)中很常用，需很好地掌握。常見(jiàn)的有：

There is no point/sense (in) + v-ing 沒(méi)道理，毫無(wú)意義

There is no use (in) + v-ing 毫無(wú)用處

There is no need to do 沒(méi)有必要做……

There is no doubt that... 毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)……

There is a (good) chance that... （很）有可能發(fā)生某事

There is no/little chance that... 不（太）可能發(fā)生某事

There is no doing sth 不可能，無(wú)法做

例如：

There is no use in hiding that fact from him．對(duì)他隱瞞那個(gè)事實(shí)沒(méi)什么用。

There is a good chance that we will see less violence and fewer wars. 很可能將來(lái)暴力和戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)會(huì)變少。

There is no point in arguing further．再爭(zhēng)下去也沒(méi)用。

Is there any point in going on？有必要再繼續(xù)下去嗎？

There was no sense in making a child suffer like that．讓一個(gè)孩子受那樣的苦是毫無(wú)道理的。

There was no need for him to remain in Shanghai．他沒(méi)有必要再留在上海。

There is no doubt that Taiwan is part of China. 毫無(wú)疑問(wèn)臺(tái)灣是中國(guó)領(lǐng)土的一部分。

There was no mistaking his intentions this time．這回不可能看錯(cuò)他的意圖。

Once let this fellow start talking，there was no stopping him．一旦讓這個(gè)家伙談起來(lái)，就無(wú)法讓他停下來(lái)了。

（2）due to 因?yàn)?/p>

due to 有很多意思類似的詞組，例如 as a result of, because of, thanks to 等，現(xiàn)在我們來(lái)區(qū)分一下這幾組詞組的不同用法：

result in 導(dǎo)致, 結(jié)果是

例句：The bad weather resulted in the flight delay.

壞天氣導(dǎo)致了航班遲誤。

result of 結(jié)果

例句：The result of doing so would only cause misery.

這樣做的結(jié)果只能導(dǎo)致災(zāi)難。

as a result of 作為……的結(jié)果

例句：A nation can become wiser and stronger as a result of change.

一個(gè)民族可能因變革而更精明更強(qiáng)大。

due to 因?yàn)?；由?/p>

例句：Her success was in part due to luck.

她的成功一部分是由于運(yùn)氣。

because of 因?yàn)椋粸榱恕壒?/p>

例句：He lost his job because of in-competence.

thanks to 由于；多虧

例句：Thanks to the English language，we can learn a lot from other countries．

例句：If possible, please sit at the kitchen table to read it.
