來料加工涉及進(jìn)出口產(chǎn)品，海外客戶向國(guó)內(nèi)企業(yè)提供材料或者部件，然后由國(guó)內(nèi)企業(yè)加工成成品出口給海外客戶。這樣國(guó)內(nèi)企業(yè)收取費(fèi)用，該費(fèi)用可能包括國(guó)內(nèi)企業(yè)所提供的附加材料成本。對(duì)于國(guó)內(nèi)企業(yè)來說，這樣做的好處是能夠跟上國(guó)際市場(chǎng)的變化，掌握先進(jìn)的技術(shù)和科學(xué)的管理知識(shí)，因而有助于提高自身產(chǎn)品在海外的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力。加工貿(mào)易具有如下特征：

1．雙方企業(yè)在一宗交易中既包括進(jìn)口也包括出口。進(jìn)口的目的為了創(chuàng)造出口。

2．由于來料和來件都屬于海外客戶，從貨物離開國(guó)外的目的地開始直到它們以成品的形式運(yùn)出期間，海外客戶都應(yīng)為貨物購買必要的保險(xiǎn)，以防止貨物可能受到的各種風(fēng)險(xiǎn)。

3．海外客戶既是原料和部件的出口商又是成品的進(jìn)口商，中國(guó)企業(yè)既是原料和部件的進(jìn)口商又是成品的出口商。

as plain as a pikestaff很明顯，非常清楚

Pikestaff是一種武器，稱作“長(zhǎng)矛”或是“長(zhǎng)槍”，有很長(zhǎng)的柄（staff），不容易藏，很容易被敵人發(fā)現(xiàn)，因此衍生出“如長(zhǎng)矛般清楚明顯”的意思。

關(guān)于這個(gè)成語的起源，還有其他的說法。有些人認(rèn)為，pikestaff是15、16世紀(jì)時(shí)，旅行者使用的行路杖。杖的一端呈尖頭狀，有防滑的作用。在旅行者長(zhǎng)期使用后，盡頭處會(huì)被磨得“光滑”，而這也是該短語最原始的意義。

該短語在現(xiàn)代英語中，可以用來表示“事物、意義或是道理等的明顯、清楚”；另外也可以指“人很平凡、普通”。as plain as the nose on someone's face和該短語意思相同

cut a deal（達(dá)成協(xié)議，成交）

cut a deal并不是指“切斷、撕破一個(gè)交易”，相反地，它是指“合作雙方達(dá)成一個(gè)協(xié)議，決定成交”。這源于古代原始部落的狩獵活動(dòng)。當(dāng)時(shí)要捕獵大型動(dòng)物，沒有許多人的合作是不行的。在協(xié)商的時(shí)候，酋長(zhǎng)或族長(zhǎng)都要?dú)⒁恍┬?dòng)物，然后切成塊兒分給大家表示達(dá)成協(xié)議。
