The waves may rage, and the winds may roar,

海浪洶涌，狂風(fēng)咆哮，

But he fears not wreck, nor need;

但他并不擔(dān)心會(huì)遭遇海難，也無(wú)需多慮；

For he rides the sea, in its stormy strength,

As a strong man rides his steed.

O the white sea-gull, the bold sea-gull,

He makes on the shore his nest,

For he careth not for the winter wild,
