Thanksgiving day

今天我們討論的話題是有關(guān)感恩節(jié).

Thanksgiving is one of the major holidays of the year .Together with Christmas and the New Year , Thanksgiving is a part of the broader holiday season .

作為受歡迎的美國(guó)聯(lián)邦政府節(jié)日，感恩節(jié)是一年中的主要節(jié)日之一。感恩節(jié)和新年、圣誕節(jié)一起，構(gòu)成了更長(zhǎng)的假期。

感恩節(jié)也被稱為Turkey day(火雞節(jié))，放假4天。

1 . 感恩節(jié)的來(lái)源：

The "First Thanks giving” was celebrated" by the Pilgrims at Plymouth to give thanks to God for guiding them safely to the New World

第一個(gè)感恩節(jié)是登陸普利茅斯的清教徒為感謝上帝指引他們平安到達(dá)新大陸而慶祝的。

The first Thanksgiving feast lasted three days, providing enough food for 53 Pilgrims and 90 Native Americans .

第一次感恩節(jié)盛宴持續(xù)了3天，為53名清教徒和90名美洲印第安人提供了豐富的食物。

The New England colonists were accustomed to regularly celebrating “Thanksgivings" - days of prayer thanking God for blessings such as military victory or the end of a drought.

While feasts make Thanksgiving a festival for individual families， parades make it a carnival for the whole nation.various parades are held in many cities to honor Thanksgiving.

團(tuán)圓飯讓感恩節(jié)成為所有家庭的節(jié)日，而游行則讓感恩節(jié)變成全民的狂歡。許多城市都會(huì)舉辦備式備樣的感恩節(jié)游行活動(dòng)。

scenes from Broadway plays

百老匯戲劇場(chǎng)景再現(xiàn)

large balloons of cartoon characters and TV personalities

卡通人物或電視明星的巨大氣球

high school marching bands 高中儀仗隊(duì)

Santa Claus float 圣涎老人花車(壓軸)

感恩節(jié)對(duì)于美國(guó)人民來(lái)說(shuō)是個(gè)大日子：

Like China's Spring Festival, preparing a big meal and bringing the family together at home is a long-standing tradition of the thanksgiving.

和中國(guó)的春節(jié)一樣，準(zhǔn)備大餐和舉家團(tuán)聚是感恩節(jié)的悠久傳統(tǒng)。

Distances don’t really matter as relatives return home to be with their family, no matter how far away.

距離不是問(wèn)題，無(wú)論多遠(yuǎn)，親人們都會(huì)趕回家與家人團(tuán)聚
