請別人幫忙做事時，在句子前面加by any chance，表示“有機會的話……”，很委婉，聽起來你是一個如此有修養(yǎng)的人，classy! elegant!

比如：

• By any chance，could you help me to ask your sister to come down？

• Will you be going to the finance meeting tomorrow by any chance?

用please 要注意：

• 要把please放在句尾。不然放在句首，聽起來會很不耐煩。

例如：

Could I have a glass of water，please? ?

Please，could I have a glass of water? ?

因為 please 放在句首會稍微帶一點要求命令的語氣。

常用英文寫郵件的小伙伴注意啦：

書面語中，比如在給客戶或老板寫郵件時：

• 可以把please替換成could you…或may I…等疑問句，

• 或者換成……will be highly appreciated/ I'd appreciate it if……

試比較：

Please reply to me by today.
May I have your feedback by today？
Your earliest response would be highly appreciated.
