LESSON 51 AUTUMN

第五十一課 秋天

Autumn has come. The green leaves are fading. Some have fallen from the trees, and are lying dead on the ground.

秋天來(lái)了，樹(shù)葉開(kāi)始凋零。有的已經(jīng)脫離母樹(shù)，死寂般的躺在地面。

Now is the time for fruit. Apples, pears, plums, and all kinds of fruit are ripe.

這是水果成熟的季節(jié)。蘋(píng)果，梨子，李子，各種各樣的水果都成熟了。

The corn, too, is ripe. The reapers begin to cut it down. See how the tall stalks nod and wave in the sunshine! They bend under the weight of the golden grain.

玉米也成熟了。收割者開(kāi)始收割。瞧！高高的莖稈在陽(yáng)光下點(diǎn)頭搖曳！他們被金黃色的玉米粒壓彎了腰。

How many loaves of bread will be made from that field of wheat! How many hungry mouths will be fed from it! When we eat our food, let us not forget to thank Him who causes the corn to grow.

那片田野的小麥要制造出多少塊面包！要喂飽多少?gòu)堭囸I的嘴巴！當(dāng)我們吃食物的時(shí)候，不要忘記那些播種玉米的人。

The autumn winds are sighing,

秋風(fēng)在低沉

Sighing in the trees;

吹過(guò)樹(shù)林

The ripened corn is waving,

成熟的玉米在揮舞

Waving in the breeze.

在風(fēng)中搖曳

The harvest moon is shining,

豐收的月亮在照耀

Shining in the night;

照亮一片黑暗

Over hill and valley

照過(guò)山坡峽谷

In floods of silver light.

散出金色的光輝

The swallows come together,

大雁歸來(lái)

Together from the eaves,

從屋檐下歸來(lái)

Waiting for the falling,

等待凋零

The falling of the leaves.

樹(shù)葉的凋零

They know the time is coming,

他們知道時(shí)間已經(jīng)到來(lái)了

The time when they must flee

他們必須逃離的時(shí)間

Away to brighter sunshine,

去追尋更亮的陽(yáng)光

Far, far across the sea.

很遠(yuǎn)，遠(yuǎn)道要跨越海洋
