The mother of Jacob Blake, the black man shot in the back by police in the US state of Wisconsin, has made an emotional appeal for an end to the violent protests sparked by the shooting. She told a news conference in Kenosha that the destruction in the past two nights did not reflect her son. Mr. Blake is said to be paralyzed from the waist down.
