請(qǐng)比較that在名詞從句與定語(yǔ)從句中的區(qū)別：
1）在名詞從句中，that不充當(dāng)句子成分，所以that后面一定要接完整的陳述句。
2）在定語(yǔ)從句中，that一定充當(dāng)句子成分，如作主語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)或表語(yǔ)，所以that后面接不完整的陳述句。
a. The rumor that he spread everywhere turned out to be untrue.
b. The rumor that Tom was a thief turned out to be untrue.
以上兩句從句的先行詞都是the rumor，連接詞都是that。
但a句中的that在從句he spread everywhere中作成分，充當(dāng)spread的賓語(yǔ)，故該從句為定語(yǔ)從句。b句中的that在從句Tom was a thief中不作任何成分。從句Tom was a thief是一個(gè)完整的句子，不缺任何成分，故b句為同位語(yǔ)從句，作the rumor的同位語(yǔ)，補(bǔ)充說(shuō)明the rumor的具體內(nèi)容。
c.The fact that we talked about is very important.（that作talked about的賓語(yǔ)，定語(yǔ)從句）
d.The fact that he succeeded in the experiment pleased everybody.（that不充當(dāng)成分，同位語(yǔ)從句）
e.The fact that there are no lives on the moon is known to us all.（同位語(yǔ)從句）
f.The fact that you pointed out made me interested.（定語(yǔ)從句）
注意，f句可改寫(xiě)為：The fact which you pointed out made me interested.若是同位語(yǔ)從句，則不能把that換成which。
