but的用法特點(diǎn)：
1） but作關(guān)系代詞，相當(dāng)于that... not ，who... not , whom... not ，在句中作主語(yǔ)或賓語(yǔ)，可指人也可指物。
2）盡管定語(yǔ)從句形式上肯定，但在意義上是否定的。
3）常與具有否定意義的主句連用。
4）通常只引導(dǎo)限定性定語(yǔ)從句。
a.There is no man but errors.（= There is no man who doesn't err. but作主語(yǔ)）　人必犯錯(cuò)。
b.There are very few but admire his talents.（= There are very few who don't admire his talents. but作主語(yǔ)）很少有人不贊賞他的才干。
c.There are very few people in this club but he knows.（= There are very few people in this club whom he doesn't know. but作賓語(yǔ)）
