27　of屬格的用法　Track23

一般來說，“of+名詞”結(jié)構(gòu)主要用于以下兩種情形：

（1）表示無生命物體的名詞的所有關(guān)系

the roof of the church　教堂的屋頂

the name of the song　歌名

the title of the book　書名

the leg of the table　桌子腿

（2）當(dāng)有生命名詞后面接短語或從句修飾時用of 屬格

a. What is the name of the boy sitting next to her?

不能說：What is the boy sitting next to her's name?*

b. I took the advice of an old man I met during a journey and decided to make something of myself.

我聽從了一次旅行中遇到的一位老人的建議，決定干出一番事業(yè)。

c. The mother of the boy in a red suit is president of our company.
