1. 表示存在意義的句型用倒裝句，強調(diào)存在的方位，有如下幾種：

1）There (appear, seem, happen, used) + to be +主語+其他

There seems/appears to be no one in the classroom.

教室里似乎沒有人。

There happened to be no one in the room when I came in.

我進來的時候碰巧房間里沒有人。

2）There stand （lie, live, happen）+主語+其他=There be+主語+其他

There is a hole in the wall.

墻上有個洞。

Once there lived a king, who had a beautiful daughter.

從前有個國王，國王有個美麗的女兒。

There happened an accident last night.

昨天夜里出車禍了。

There stands a high building over there.

那邊有座高樓。

There lies a railway extending eastward.

有一條鐵路向東延伸。

3）地點狀語+謂語+主語+其他

On the chair stood a little boy who was singing.

椅子上站著一個小男孩在唱歌。

Under the tree lay a dog which was sleeping.

樹下躺著一條狗在睡覺。

2. 不指具體地點和時間的副詞在句首時引起倒裝：

There （Here, Now, Then) + come/go/be +主語

Here comes the bus!

公共汽車來了。

There goes the bell!

鈴響了。

Then came a knock at the door!

緊接著傳來了敲門聲。

There suddenly rushed into the room a group of small children.

突然闖進房間來一群小孩子。

When, at last, she stopped, there followed the strangest silence.

最后她終于停下來時，緊隨其后的是一片奇怪的寂靜。

注意：

1）這里there, then等不指具體地點和時間。

2）謂語動詞常是be, go, come, run等不及物動詞。

3）主語的數(shù)決定謂語動詞的數(shù)；在兩個或兩個以上的主語并列存在時，謂語動詞的數(shù)應與其最近的主語保持一致，詳見“主謂一致”。

There comes a boy and two girls.

一個男孩和兩個女孩來了。

4) 主語是人稱代詞時，主謂不倒裝。

Here he comes!

他來了。
