1. 名詞use, good, pity, time, fun, bore, a waste of time, worth（形容詞）等作表語時，常用it作形式主語而把真正的主語動名詞后置：

It is no use waiting for him; he won't come.

等他沒用，他不會來的。

It is no good staying up so late every evening.

每天晚上熬夜是沒有好處的。

It is a waste of time talking about it here.

在這里談?wù)撍抢速M時間。

2. “there is no +動名詞”結(jié)構(gòu)相當(dāng)于It is impossible to do sth.,此時動名詞通常帶有賓語。

There's no joking about such matters.

對這樣的事情沒有玩笑可言。

There's no getting along well with him.

不可能和他相處好。

There's no hiding of the evil but not to do it.

要想人不知除非己莫為。

3. 用于布告形式的省略結(jié)構(gòu)中，意義上相當(dāng)于祈使句。動名詞通常不帶賓語。

No smoking ！ = Don't smoke.

不許抽煙。

No parking ! = Don't park.

不許停車。
