It takes sacrifices. That's what it takes to be great.

 

愿意做出犧牲，才能變得優(yōu)秀。

 

Any kind of success that you'll experience in your life will take sacrifice. And that's the case for your studying, too.

在人生中，你經(jīng)歷的任何成功，都離不開付出。這個(gè)道理，放到你的學(xué)習(xí)上，也是一樣的。

 

You need to be willing to go with the extra mile. Someone who wakes up early, goes to the gym, and walks into the empty library, while everyone else is still sleeping.

你要心甘情愿地比別人多付出一點(diǎn)。有人早早就能起床，去鍛煉，去空蕩蕩的圖書館，而別人都還在睡覺。

 

You will get tired. But if you have a strong enough reason, you will find the strength to push through.

你會(huì)感到疲憊，但是如果你的動(dòng)力足夠強(qiáng)，你就能找到能量，堅(jiān)持下去。

 

Why are you different than all the other people in your class? Who are trying to achieve exactly the same as you?

為何你與班上的同學(xué)不一樣？誰和你有一樣的追求？

 

What makes you stand out from that? What makes you deserve it more than they deserve it?

是什么讓你脫穎而出？是什么讓你比別人更有資格取得成功？

 

Somebody is waiting for you to give up. Someone is waiting for you to fall. So don't just talk about your hustle. Don't just talk about how much you're studying. Show me.

有人在等待你放棄，等待你失敗。所以，不要紙上談兵，不要說自己學(xué)習(xí)了多少，而是要用實(shí)際行動(dòng)證明。

 

Every single one of us only has 24 hours in a day. That includes me. That includes you. That includes your friends, your teachers, your parents. It also includes Bill Gates, Richard Branson, and Will Smith.

我們每個(gè)人，每天只有24小時(shí)。我，你，你的朋友，你的老師，你的父母，Bill Gates，Richard Branson，Will Smith，大家都一樣。

 

And so if you only have 24 hours a day, your success is solely dependent on how you use that 24 hours.

既然，你每天只有24小時(shí)，你的成功，就取決于你如何安排這24小時(shí)。

 

How many of your 24 do you spend mindlessly scrolling through social media, or on the phone to friends, or watching aimless videos on YouTube?

在每天的24小時(shí)中，你花了多長時(shí)間去瀏覽社交媒體，給朋友打電話，或者毫無目的地看YouTube上的視頻？

 

So what's the difference between someone who is successful in their education or in business or however you want to define it, and someone who is unsuccessful?

那些學(xué)業(yè)成功或事業(yè)成功的人，還有那些失敗的人，他們之間有何不同？

 

The successful person uses every single hour of their 24 hours wisely. That's it. That's really it.

成功的人，他們合理安排24小時(shí)里的每一個(gè)小時(shí)。僅此而已，真的。

 

The person failing their exams will be spending much of their 24 hours doing things that do not align with their long-term goals.

考試失敗的人，在一天的24小時(shí)中，有一大部分時(shí)間，是浪費(fèi)在一些與自己長遠(yuǎn)目標(biāo)無關(guān)的事情上的。

 

The person at the top of the class will be spending all of their 24 hours reading, writing, learning, researching, asking questions, planning, preparing, exercising, and eating healthily.

班里成績拔尖的人，把每天24小時(shí)都花在讀書、寫作、學(xué)習(xí)、研究、提問、計(jì)劃、準(zhǔn)備、鍛煉、健康飲食上。

 

Because I can tell you all about your life, if you show me your schedule and you stick to it. If there are empty gaps in the schedule where you're not doing anything productive, I know exactly where you're going to be in 10 years' time.

如果你能告訴我，你的日常安排是什么，并且你一直保持這樣的安排，那么，我就能知道，你的生活大概是什么樣的。如果，在你的日常安排中，有一些時(shí)間空了出來，并且你用這些時(shí)間來做沒有意義的事情，那么，我就能預(yù)見十年之后你會(huì)變成什么樣子。
