A girl is complaining about her friend always being late.

一個(gè)女孩在抱怨她的朋友總是遲到。

A: Hi, Ken.

B: Hi, Lily. What are you so upset about?

A: I’m furious with Jenny! She’s always late.

B: Always? Why don’t you talk it over with her? Encourage her to be

on time, or tell her how much it annoys you?

A: Look! I’ve talked till I’m blue in the face. It’s out of the question.

B: There must be something you can do.

A: I doubt it. Last night we went to a concert. Do you know what time we got there? Just in time to go out for the intermission! We missed half of the show!

B: I guess you’re just wasting your breath then. Time means nothing to Jenny.

A: You’re right. I guess I should just stop doing things with her.

B: You don’t have to go that far. Just don’t waste your time waiting for her.

A: I guess you’re right. I could just tell her to meet me at the restaurant or movie.

B: Right. Then if she’s late, it’s her problem not yours.

A: Thanks for your advice! I appreciate it!

A: 嗨，肯。

B: 嗨，莉莉。你為什么事這么生氣？

A: 珍尼快氣死我了！她總是遲到。

B: 總是？你為什么不和她好好談一談，鼓勵(lì)她準(zhǔn)時(shí)一點(diǎn)，或者告訴她你對(duì)這件事很惱火呢？

B: 那我想你確實(shí)是徒勞了。時(shí)間對(duì)珍尼來(lái)說(shuō)是沒(méi)有用的。

A: 是啊。我想我以后不跟她交往了。

B: 你倒沒(méi)必要那么過(guò)分。只要?jiǎng)e再浪費(fèi)時(shí)間等她就行了。

A: 我想你說(shuō)得對(duì)。那我就讓她在飯館或是電影院等我。

B: 對(duì)。那樣的話，她若遲到就是她的問(wèn)題而與你無(wú)關(guān)。
