A number of times, I've found myself in a sticky jam. 有很多次我都被困于絕境

You can just feel your mind racing,and loads of mad ideas come into it. 但那時你能感覺到大腦在飛快地運轉(zhuǎn) 不一會一大堆瘋狂的主意就冒了出來

And eventually, one of them, you think,"Hang on --"with a little bit of a tweak, some of the lone last line could work. 最后你想到的主意 等一下 "在擰一下就行了"總有一個是有用的

Okay, look.That's gonna be the actual climbing nut itself. 好了 看 這個臨時應(yīng)急的攀巖螺母就做好了

And all of that should take my weight. 應(yīng)該能承受住我的體重

Bit of a precarious position, this one trying to get this nut into this crack. 這么爬下去可不行 太危險了 我要把螺母塞進這條裂縫

Yeah, that's relatively solid. 行 還算牢固

And then all I got to do is thread the rope through this, 現(xiàn)在我要做的就是把繩子從這穿過去

climb down on the rope,and retrieve it. 然后順著它爬下去 然后再把繩子收回來

Let's get the rucksack.Okay, thread that through. 拿好背包 好了 把繩子穿過去

What at first seems like an easy scramble down 起初看起來很輕松的攀巖

could quickly turn into something much bigger and much more dangerous. 在轉(zhuǎn)瞬之間就變得困難重重也更加危險

You always need a way back up. 你一定要給自己留好退路

Otherwise, you get rimrocked -- trapped with no way up or down 不然你就會身陷懸崖 進也不是 退也不是

and you're literally stuck between a rock and a hard place. 只能卡在這里 難以自救

All right, try and get this back. 好了 把繩子收起來

Ugh. Oh, man Alive.Get this stowed,and get moving again. 天吶 活過來了 把繩子裝好 繼續(xù)前進

Down the shaft of doom.Look at that.Okay. 終于絕處逢生了 你看 好了

This is gonna be just heaven. 這里簡直就像天堂一樣美好

I'm gonna work my way along the river. 我要沿著這條河繼續(xù)前進

You may not know it,but you're almost certainly being monitored. 你可能還沒注意到 但你此時已經(jīng)處于監(jiān)控之下了

You have to hope that you trigger the system, 你只能寄希望于自己觸發(fā)了監(jiān)控系統(tǒng)

the border patrol come to investigate. 這樣巡邏隊才會來找你

That's the sound of a sheriff's patrol car,which means my way out of here. 這是巡邏車的聲音 我得救了

This desert has sucked me in,chewed me up,and spat me out, 我深陷這片沙漠之中 體驗了它最冷酷無情的一面 所幸最后逃出生天
