In New York or Boston, some of the cities on the eastern coast of the United States, 在紐約或波斯頓等這樣的美國東海岸城市，

people talk about sitting on the stoop, that mean you're sitting on your stairs. 人們說到坐在門廊上時(shí)指的是你正坐在樓梯上。

But, you can also use the word to talk about your own stairs in front of your house. The top of those stairs is where you might find packages. 但在說到你房子前面的樓梯時(shí)也可以使用這個(gè)詞。你可能會(huì)在那些樓梯頂端發(fā)現(xiàn)包裹。
