Fridge, "fridge," is another way of saying refrigerator — it's a short way of saying refrigerator. “Fridge”是冰箱的另一種叫法——它是冰箱的簡(jiǎn)稱。

The fridge is where you put food to keep it cold. 冰箱是冷藏食物的地方。

So, my fridge is empty which means I don't have any food, so I decide to go to the market. 因此，“我的冰箱空了”的意思是“冰箱里沒(méi)有食物了”，因此我決定到市場(chǎng)去。

The market here means the supermarket, a place where you can buy food, 市場(chǎng)在這里是指超級(jí)市場(chǎng)，可以購(gòu)買(mǎi)食物的地方，

or it could be a smaller market, what we might call a corner market; that would be a small store. 或者它可能是個(gè)小型市場(chǎng)，我們稱之為街角市場(chǎng);也就是小型商店。

Often, they are located at the intersection — at the corner of two streets. 它們常常坐落在十字路口——兩條街道相交的角落。

I get to the market and I pick up some food. 我趕到超級(jí)市場(chǎng)后，拿了一些食物。

"I pick up some French bread," which is a type of bread, “拿了一些法國(guó)面包”，它是一種面包，

I pick up "a bag of apples," I get "a few bananas, some pasta," because I love pasta, some "tomato sauce," for my pasta, "and a cooked chicken." 拿了“一袋蘋(píng)果，一些香蕉，一些意大利面”，因?yàn)槲蚁矚g吃意大利面，拌面吃的“番茄醬”，和“熟雞肉”。
