感恩節(jié)要到啦!它可是美國人最看重的節(jié)日。今天我們就聊聊它的起源、美國人怎么慶祝，當(dāng)然還要說說感恩節(jié)大餐都吃什么。

感恩節(jié)的來歷

Thanksgiving: 感恩節(jié)

The origin/backstory of Thanksgiving: 感恩節(jié)的起源、背后的故事

Native Indians: 印第安人

The early settlers to the North American continent: 早期來到北美大陸的移民

They were called pilgrims (from England): 他們叫'pilgrims'，1620年移居美洲的英國清教徒

They were starving to death because they couldn't grow the food they were used to: 由于種不出他們習(xí)慣種的糧食，這些人陷入饑荒

The Native Indians taught them how to grow corn and hunt:印第安人教這些北美新移民如何種玉米、打獵

That helped the pilgrims survive the first winter: 幫助他們度過來到美洲后的第一個嚴冬

So the pilgrims started Thanksgiving the following year to celebrate 'we've made it' with the help of the Indians: 所以清教徒在下一年開始了感恩節(jié)，感謝印第安人的幫助

It's not clear whether the meal ever happened: 雖然沒有確切的歷史記載到底有沒有這頓感恩節(jié)大餐
