Horrible Banana

Two girls were taking their first train trip to Moscow. A vendor came down the corridor selling bananas which they’d never seen before. Each bought one. The first one eagerly peeled the banana and bit into it just as the train went into a tunnel. When the train emerged from the tunnel, she looked to her friend and said, “I wouldn’t eat that if I were you.” “Why not?” “I took one bite and went blind for half a minute.”

可怕的香蕉

兩個(gè)女孩頭一次做火車(chē)到莫斯科去。有一個(gè)小販沿著火車(chē)過(guò)道賣(mài)香蕉。她們從來(lái)沒(méi)有見(jiàn)過(guò)香蕉，就各自買(mǎi)了一個(gè)。有一個(gè)迫不及待地剝了皮，咬了一口。正好這時(shí)候火車(chē)過(guò)一條隧道。當(dāng)火車(chē)從隧道的另一頭出來(lái)的時(shí)候， 她看著她的朋友說(shuō)：“我要是你的話(huà)我就不吃這個(gè)。”“為什么?”“我咬了一口，結(jié)果有半分鐘什么也看不見(jiàn)。”

【詞匯講解】

1.horrible可怕的。也有“極不友好的”的意思：Don't be so horrible to me!別對(duì)我如此不友好。

2.banana香蕉。be bananas發(fā)瘋。Everyone's beginning to think I'm bananas.每個(gè)人都認(rèn)為我瘋了。

3.vendor攤販。也有“賣(mài)主”的意思：Is the vendor always held responsible if goods are faulty?如果產(chǎn)品有瑕疵, 賣(mài)主是否一定要負(fù)責(zé)到底?

4.peel剝?nèi)ニ蚴卟说钠?。作名詞有“果皮”、“蔬菜皮”的意思。
