The British parliament has rejected a series of plans put forward by MPs as alternative to the deal negotiated by the prime minister Theresa May, which has been rejected twice. Mrs. May has told MPs from her conservative party that she will stand down if parliament approves her deal. The prime minister has been trying to persuade hard-line pro-Brexit conservative MPs to give their backing in the 3rd vote she hopes to bring in the next two days. But a key northern Irish party has again said it will not support it.

The aircraft manufacturer Boeing has unveiled a software fix to an automated anti-stall system on the 737 Max model, which has crashed twice in the last 6 months. Boeing said the changes included a software upgrade, designed to make it easier for the pilot to override the system, and a light warning of the system's malfunctions that were previously sold as an optical safety feature.
