露西的一天 第38期:發(fā)型服飾講解(1)

Episode four is entitled "Doing Hair and Getting Dressed." 第4課的標(biāo)題為“服飾發(fā)型”。

Lucy begins by going "into the bathroom to finish doing" her "hair." 露西開頭說“到洗手間去完成”“發(fā)型”的最后一步。

To do your hair means to make your hair look nice. 梳頭的意思是讓你的頭發(fā)看起來好看。

We may also say, "to fix your hair," but the most common expression is "to do your hair." 我們可能也會說:“去整理你的頭發(fā)”，但最常見的表達(dá)是“梳頭”。

Well, if you remember from a previous episode, Lucy had put hot curlers, or hot rollers. 如果你記得上一課的話，露西已經(jīng)放了加熱過的的卷發(fā)器，或者加熱過的發(fā)卷。

A roller, "roller," is another name for a curler, and those are things that women put in their hair so that their hair is not straight, it has curls in it. “發(fā)卷”(roller)是卷發(fā)器的另一個名字，這些東西是女孩子們放在頭發(fā)上的東西，這樣頭發(fā)就不會那么直了，就會有卷發(fā)。

Lucy now needs "to finish doing" her "hair." 露西現(xiàn)在需要“完成”她的“發(fā)型”。

She says that "Before" she "put the hot rollers," or the hot curlers, "in," she "had put a little gel in" her "hair to give it some extra volume." 她說，“往頭發(fā)里放加熱過的卷發(fā)器之前”，也可能是加熱過的發(fā)卷，她“往頭發(fā)上抹了點(diǎn)發(fā)膠”，“讓頭發(fā)看起來更豐盈。”

Gel, "gel," is a thick liquid that you put on your hair. 發(fā)膠(gel)，是你涂在頭發(fā)上的一種粘稠的液體。

Sometimes you put it on your hair because you want your hair to go in a certain way - you want it to be flat, for example, you put the gel on top. It's a thick liquid. 有時你把它抹在頭發(fā)上，因為你想讓頭發(fā)出現(xiàn)某種效果——比如你想要它是平的，就把凝膠涂在頭頂。這是一種粘稠液體。
