[00:07.96]Education for Children of Migrant Workers
[00:12.38]In recent decades,
[00:14.87]with the development of modernization and urbanization of China,
[00:19.35]more and more farmers have flooded into urban areas,
[00:23.77]which arouses a problem: many migrant children are faced
[00:28.83]with the difficulty in getting good education.
[00:31.82]The reasons of this problem are listed below.
[00:35.30]Firstly, the rigid household registration system
[00:39.58]differentiates these children from their city peers.
[00:44.12]Children of migrant workers
[00:46.59]are often rejected by some public schools in cities
[00:50.45]because they are not city residents.
[00:53.00]Secondly, although there are some private schools for migrant children,
[00:58.53]the poor school condition,
[01:00.58]the lack of equipment and the shortage of teachers
[01:03.45]make these children not able to receive good education.
[01:07.80]In my opinion, the central government
[01:11.10]should reform the household registration system
[01:14.27]to guarantee the migrant children's access to public schools in cities.
[01:19.50]Besides, it's necessary for local governments
[01:23.17]to allocate more budgets to private education for migrant children.
[01:28.27]With these measures,
[01:30.08]I believe these migrant children can get good education one day.
