　　let somebody off 放過某人，照顧某人，讓某人出去

　　具有放開 ( off ) 含義，表示“放過某人”。let somebody off the hook 也是一樣的意思。另外，物理上也可以理解為“釋放……”。

　　例句：

　　I'm not going to give you a ticket. I'm going to let you off with a warning.

　　我不會(huì)給你開罰單，這次僅僅是警告。

　　My boss let me off early, so I took the plane.

　　我老板讓我早早離開了，以便讓我趕上飛機(jī)。

　　Let her off the plane!

　　讓她下飛機(jī)。

　　對(duì)話：

　　A: The bus will let me off near your house.

　　我坐公交能到你們家附近。

　　B: Well, come on over and visit me.

　　好的，過來玩吧。
