可以使用there be結(jié)構(gòu)的否定形式，來表達對某一具體行為和抽象概念的否定，這時可使用"There is＋no＋Noun＋in doing something"的形式。如：There is no harm in doing that. There is no disgrace in failing once.這時候，該結(jié)構(gòu)中的介詞可以省略，如：There is no use asking her.

想要詢問"某地是否有某人某物"時，就需要使用There be...結(jié)構(gòu)的疑問式。比如：Is there any ink in the bottle? Are there any magazines in the reading-room?
