445　location，position，locality，site和spot

① location指事物所在或所處的地點(diǎn)、位置。

The hill is a good location for the new church. 這座小山是建新教堂的好地方。

The location of my house is far from the center of the city. 我家的位置離市中心很遠(yuǎn)。

② position強(qiáng)調(diào)與周?chē)挛锵鄬?duì)的位置。

This position of the lamp will give the best light. 這盞燈現(xiàn)在放的位置照明效果最佳。

The house's position on the hill gives it a wonderful view of the coast. 這所房子在小山上的位置使它能夠看到海岸美麗的景色。

③ locality意為“地帶，地區(qū)”，強(qiáng)調(diào)圍繞某個(gè)特定的地區(qū)、區(qū)域或方位。

There are no hotels in this locality. 這一帶沒(méi)有旅館。

Betty doesn't live in our locality. 貝蒂不住在我們這個(gè)地區(qū)。

She has a good sense of locality. 她的方向感很強(qiáng)。

④ site指某個(gè)發(fā)生過(guò)特別事情的地方；（建筑物、城鎮(zhèn)等的）地方，位置，遺址。

⑤ spot指特定的場(chǎng)所，可為人或物占有處，也可為事件或行為發(fā)生地。

We had a good spot from which to watch the parade. 我們有個(gè)好位置，可以看到游行。

This is the spot where the accident took place. 這里是事故的發(fā)生地。
