417　join，join in，take part in，attend，enter for，sit for和go in for

① join用作及物動(dòng)詞，表示“參加，加入”，后面可以跟團(tuán)體等作賓語，也可以跟人作賓語，搭配有：

join the army 參軍

join the Party 入黨

join the League 入團(tuán)

join the team 入隊(duì)

join the club 參加俱樂部

join sb. 和某人一起（干）

join sb. in sth./in doing sth.和某人一起進(jìn)行某項(xiàng)活動(dòng)

② join in通常指參加正在進(jìn)行著的活動(dòng)，如work，talk，game，match等；join in也可單獨(dú)使用，結(jié)構(gòu)為：

join in+某項(xiàng)活動(dòng)

join in doing sth.

Please come and join in the game. 請(qǐng)來參加游戲。

Would you please join in playing football？你來參加踢足球好嗎？

One bird began to sing and other birds also joined in. 一只鳥開始鳴叫，別的鳥也叫了起來。

①join sth. to sth. 表示“把某物同某物連接起來”。

He joined this line to that one. 他把這條線同那條線連接起來。

②表示“連續(xù)，連合，相連”時(shí)，join可用作及物動(dòng)詞和不及物動(dòng)詞。

A new road joins the mountain village to the town. 一條新路把這個(gè)山村同小城連接起來了。（用作及物動(dòng)詞）

The two rivers join here. 兩條河在這里交匯。

③ take part in指參加活動(dòng)、事業(yè)、會(huì)議、戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)等，并起應(yīng)有的作用。

He took part in the Second World War. 他參加過第二次世界大戰(zhàn)。

She will take part in the meeting tomorrow. 她將參加明天的會(huì)議。

④ attend表示“出席”，相當(dāng)于be present，一般指出席會(huì)議。

He attended an important meeting yesterday. 他昨天出席了一個(gè)重要會(huì)議。

attend to表示“專心于，留意”，attend on表示“侍候，看護(hù)”。

⑤ enter for意為“報(bào)名參加某項(xiàng)比賽，讓某人報(bào)名參加比賽”。

She entered for a dancing competition. 她報(bào)名參加舞蹈比賽。

He entered for the entrance examination. 他報(bào)名參加入學(xué)考試。

⑥ sit for表示“參加（考試），坐著讓人畫像/照相等”。

She sat for her portrait. 她擺好姿勢(shì)讓人畫像。

He sat for a fellowship. 他參加獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金考試。

⑦ go in for表示“參加某項(xiàng)比賽、考試”，也表示“愛好”。

Which events is she going in for at the Olympics？她在奧運(yùn)會(huì)上參加哪幾項(xiàng)比賽？

The old man goes in for fishing. 那位老人喜歡釣魚。
