238　during和through

① during表示“在……期間”，強(qiáng)調(diào)在某段時間內(nèi)發(fā)生了什么。

I often went to see her during my stay there. 我住在那里時常去看她。

These animals never go out of the hole during the whole winter. 在整個冬天，這些動物從不出洞。

提示

要注意的是，during不可與表示具體長度的時間詞連用，這時要用介詞for。for+時間名詞表示所用的總的時間，for短語常用于完成時中，也可用于過去時。

He has lived here during a long time.

He has lived here for a long time.

他住在這里已經(jīng)很久了。

Their discussion lasted for three hours. 他們的討論持續(xù)了三個小時。（for可省去）

② through的本意是“通過，穿過”，表示“自始至終”。

He walked through the town. 他步行穿過小城。

She slept all through the day. 她睡了整整一天。
