跟2021說再見，“元旦節(jié)”、“跨年”用英語怎么說？

元旦， 在漢語里，元”表示開始、最初。“旦”表示太陽剛出地平線之際，即一日之始;因此“元旦”就是一年之始、一年的第一天。新中國成立之時，正式使用“公元紀(jì)年法”，把每年公歷的1月1日定為元旦。

在英文里，元旦就是新年。

Western New Year's Day in Chinese is usually called "元旦 (yuándàn)." The phrase 元旦 first appear in "晉書(Book of Jin)" of ancient China, but the meaning had been recoginized for over 4000 years. The first day of twelfth lunar month or October was celebrated as 元旦. Then it was celebrated on the first day of Lunar New Year since the reign of Emperor Wudi of the Han Dynasty. When the formation of the Republic of China, 元旦 is on the day of Jan. 1st in Gregorian calenda. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, Gregorian January 1 was renamed named 元旦節(jié), with the aim of distinguishing the new year(新年xīn nián) in "農(nóng)歷 (nónglì) lunar calendar" and the "陽歷 (yánglì) Gregorian calendar."

怎么用英語表達(dá)“跨年”?

英語中并沒有和“跨年”一一對應(yīng)的詞
