美式英語中也說成where there's smoke, there's fire。

這個(gè)表達(dá)通常還會搭配這兩個(gè)詞：rumor和gossip。這兩個(gè)詞指的是在人與人之間傳播但尚未被證實(shí)為真實(shí)的故事或信息。它們通常是關(guān)于一些不好的事情。針對rumor和gossip，通常它們是there's no smoke without fire的。

If someone says there's no smoke without fire or where there's smoke there's fire, they mean that there are rumours or signs that something is true so it must be at least partly true.
